Welcome to The Coastal Gardener, a small specialist plant nursery and garden design practice.

 

The nursery is at Fakenham Farm, Eddington Road, St Helens, Isle of Wight, PO33 1XS.

The nursery is very much a hub for learning, inspiration and advice. This year we are expanding opportunities for volunteers at the nursery - more details on the Volunteers page. We host events and activities throughout the year including talks, charity events, workshops and courses.

Our raised beds showcase the plants we sell and we hope you’ll be

inspired by our planting combinations.  Visit us and see for yourself!

 

The nursery is open every Wednesday 10.00 -16.00

and on the first and third Sunday of each month

(March to October)

 

 We specialise in plants that thrive in maritime conditions, although most of our plants will be happy in   inland gardens too. We have many unusual and hard-to-find perennials as well as a small selection of shrubs and trees. We propagate many of the plants we have for sale. We sow seed collected at the nursery and take cuttings from from our stock plants - truly Isle of Wight born and bred! We take our environmental impact seriously and use peat free compost, organic feed and re-use plastic pots.

We design and create gardens of all sizes, public and private, inland and coastal.
